Sliding

No sliding. No exceptions.

Sliding tackles, sliding to block or score, and any drop-to-ground challenge are fouls. A defender who slides in their own box gives away a penalty, even if they win the ball. Goalkeepers may slide only inside their own box.

Slide in the box = penalty kick

VAR challenges

How it works

  1. 1

    One challenge per half

Each team may challenge one call in each half.

  2. 2

    Win it, keep it

If the challenge is successful, the team keeps it and can challenge again.

  3. 3

Lose it, lose it for the half

If the challenge is unsuccessful, the team loses its challenge for the rest of that half.
